While many musicians don't start playing in order to make it big in the music business, a new website is trying to help those who do want to parlay their talent into a career.
AllAxess.com was recently launched by Jeff Kendrick and Mike Spreitzer, members of the heavy metal band DevilDriver.
"The website was created out of artistic love of the guitar," Kendrick recently told Forbes. "But it was also created out of necessity. It's a different type of offering. It's also a view of the music business from people who are currently living it."
The site features guitar lessons, tips, music industry news and musician interviews as well as information on the latest recording studio and music equipment, among other things. In addition, the duo is working on launching a smartphone app that caters to guitar enthusiasts.
"We're trying to work with the individual and help individual bands," Kendrick told the publication. "This is something totally different, and something I never really thought I'd do, but now it's our calling. We live for this. It's all for the love."
Individuals who want to learn more about the music industry or their craft can visit AllAxess.com and register for free. They may also choose other online resources, such as YouTube.
Amateur musicians of all abilities should also know that they can stretch their equipment budget farther by opting for a used guitar or other used instrument while depending on free online lessons and help to sharpen their skills.
